The Centre for Continuing Education was established in 1977 as a Faculty of Continuing Education. In 2000, it was renamed the Centre for the Advancement of Qualifications, and in 2005 in the Centre for Continuing Education.
The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) is a service unit of the University of Ruse. The subject of CCE activity is training and acquisition, expansion and improvement of the professional qualification of students, doctoral students, members of the scientific and teaching staff of the University of Ruse, specialists and students who have completed secondary or higher education with the aim of supporting the professional career and individual development. CCE conducts consulting and other activities and services that are in accordance with the Regulations for the activities of the University of Ruse and the law on higher education.
The various types and forms of continuing education are designed to:
- Graduate specialists with higher education of all educational and qualification degrees;
- For students, simultaneously with the acquisition of these degrees;
- For people with secondary education.
Trainings are organized in CCE:
1. In areas of higher education in which the University of Ruse conducts training;
2. To students of optional disciplines;
3. To increase and acquire a teacher's qualification;
4. In foreign languages;
5. In directions characteristic of continuing education and caused by the social and economic situation in the country.
